'Aunt' Karin Greeted by Pups
Quantity in Basket: None
Photographed on July 23, 2004, puppies Ayla and Ruedi greet their 'Aunt' Karin. Karin was actually not related to them, she was not even part of the pack anymore, but pups form quick, almost instant attachments to any adult wolf, and vice versa.
Ayla's licking is part of food begging behavior that is common in pups toward all adult wolves. This eventually may change into a tongue-flick used in appeasement and greeting.
